DHAKA, October 6, 2026: UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus celebrated World Teachers’ Day 2026 with enthusiasm and festive spirit on Monday at the university hall in Banani, Dhaka.
The event was organized to strengthen mutual respect and foster a stronger bond between teachers and students. Faculty members, students and distinguished guests attended the celebration.
Among those present were Ariful Bari Majumder, Chairman of IIL and Senior Vice President of UCSI University; Prof. Dr. H. M. Jahirul Huq, Vice President (Academic); Major Suman Subhan, Provost; and deans and faculty members from various faculties. Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Prime Asia University, attended the event as the special guest.
Deans from different faculties addressed the gathering, including Prof. Mohammad J. Monir of Business & Management and Hospitality & Tourism Management, Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain of Computer Science & Digital Innovation, and Dr. Zoha Rahman of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin emphasized that education goes beyond textbooks. He said education plays a vital role in building character and developing human values.
“We want our students not only to build successful careers but also to contribute to positive social change through honesty, dedication and innovative thinking. Young minds should face challenges with courage and remain relentless in pursuing their dreams,” he said.
Prof. Dr. H. M. Jahirul Huq delivered the concluding remarks, highlighting the university’s continued commitment to strengthening relationships between students and faculty members.
A major highlight of the celebration was the heartfelt expression of gratitude from students representing different departments. They expressed appreciation for their teachers’ continuous support, inspiration and belief in their potential.
“From the classroom to every step of our lives, the way you have stood by us, inspired us and believed in our potential is invaluable. We will forever cherish your contribution and sacrifices in shaping our dreams and building a brighter future,” the student representatives said.
Following the discussion session, students presented a vibrant cultural programme and musical performances in honor of their teachers and mentors.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note with teachers, guests and students joining together for a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony.
