Malaysia-based UCSI Hospital has officially launched a Medical Referral Center in Bangladesh to facilitate access to healthcare services for Bangladeshi patients seeking treatment in Malaysia.
The referral center, an initiative of UCSI Group, is located at the UCSI University Bangladesh Campus in Banani, Dhaka. Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, Vice-Chancellor and President of UCSI University, formally inaugurated the center on Saturday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ariful Bari Mozumder, Chairman of Insight Institute of Learning (IIL) and Senior Vice President of UCSI University Bangladesh Campus; Professor Dr. Kushairi, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Professor Dr. H M Zahir, Vice President (Academic); Major Suman Subhan (Retd.), Provost; and Dr. Muhammad Khaled, Director and Secretary of IIL.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the guests visited the newly established facility and reviewed its services and operations.
The Medical Referral Center will provide emergency medical support to students, faculty members and staff of the UCSI University Bangladesh Campus. It will also assist Bangladeshi patients who wish to receive treatment in Malaysia by providing medical advice, referral support and administrative coordination.
Through the center, patients will be able to receive guidance on suitable medical services and obtain assistance with the necessary arrangements for accessing healthcare facilities in Malaysia at affordable costs.
UCSI Hospital is Malaysia’s only private hospital with a dedicated public service wing, aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare. The 130-bed hospital also contributes to the development of healthcare and medical science through collaborations with leading universities around the world.
Alongside general medical services, UCSI Hospital offers specialized treatment in several fields, including oncology, cardiology, surgery, ear, nose and throat (ENT), orthopedics and other medical disciplines.
The launch of the referral center is expected to strengthen healthcare cooperation between Bangladesh and Malaysia while providing Bangladeshi patients with a local point of contact for seeking medical treatment at UCSI Hospital.
