Bodies of three Bangladeshis, who were killed in the Italian capital of Rome nearly two months ago, were brought home on Friday.

Relatives of the victims received the bodies at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka in the morning and took them to their village home in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali after completing the necessary formalities at the airport.

The victims were Kamal Uddin Babul, 39, his wife, 38, and their five-year-old daughter Arwa Islam Arisha.

Babul's 20-year-old son, Ayan, who was seriously injured but survived the incident, also returned home with the bodies.

According to the family, the first namaz-e-janaza for the deceased was held in Italy on Thursday, while the second funeral prayer was held at a school ground at their village home on Friday evening.

They were buried later in their family graveyard.

On 26 June, the killings took place inside a residential flat in western Rome.

After being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the bodies. Ayan was rescued in serious condition and admitted to a local hospital.
